How long does it take to get there?

I've been asked (repeatedly) "how long does it take to get from Boise to Saigon?" Let's find out! I'm currently sitting in the Boise airport. Timer starts ... Now! Next stop is Seattle, then Vancouver, then HongKong then (finally) Saigon.

So excited to finally be on my way!!!

Switzerland 2018: Day 7

Today was my special day to do whatever I wanted on vacation.    I spent the day hiking and playing with my camera.   CAUTION:    insanely beautiful pictures to follow…    proceed at your own risk! I got the “Peak pass” which allows me to get on and off the lifts, trains funiculars or whatever they have that goes up, as many times as I want for one day.    The earliest way to get anywhere is the train to Gornergrat which leaves at 7:00 AM.    This is a pretty early start for me on vacation.    I wasn’t ready for the clock to go off when 6:00 hit.    This gave me just enough time to eat some breakfast, throw on some clothes and hoof it to the train station.   I was supposed to get off at the Rotenboden station but the map isn’t super clear (in my defence, it even confused Jeff who is Mr. Map Guy) and I got off at Riffelberg.    This meant that instead of a 15 minute hike to the lake I ...

Switzerland 2018: Day 14

Today was our last fun day of vacation.  The plane ride home doesn't count because that is never fun, lol. We headed to Zurich today.  On the way we got caught up in "cow traffic".  They were moving a herd down the road and we were stuck behind them for a little while.  Wren thought it was awesome.  They had people holding ropes at the front and back of the small herd and that kept the cows from crossing in front of on coming traffic.  It was all very organized and the cows seemed like this was nothing new to them.  It was fun to see. Zurich is a cool city in that they have public bikes you can borrow for free.  Because of this, it is almost impossible to find a place to rent a bike.  It was our plan to get a bike and explore the city on bikes.  There are some really nice places to ride.  The downside is we were unable to get a bike with a kid seat.  They have them but they were all taken out for the day so we had to aba...

Switzerland 2018: Day 3

I started the day with a morning run.   This is something I love to do on vacation and even more so now that we have kids.   It gives me a little much needed “me” time, I get to cover a lot of ground and (TIM?) it keeps my digestive system happy. Sunrise. Such a nice morning. This covered bridge is called the Chapel bridge and was originally built in 1365. Inside of the bridge. The bridge is unique because of the paintings in the eaves.  The paintings are from the 1700's.  There were originally 147.  Unfortunately, many of the paintings were destroyed in a fire in 1993.  Only 30 of them have been fully restored.
