Thoughts on traveling with a baby
Disclaimer: I am not a child care professional or Dr. or a person with any professional experience with children. I'm a mom who traveled with a baby and here are some of the things that worked or didn't when we traveled with our baby. I take no responsibility for anything you choose to do with your baby.
Things that worked well:
- Airport picnic between flights. We put a blanket down for Wren to play and crawl around on so that she wasn't licking the dirty carpet but could move. It worked great.
- This one might sound obvious but, listen to your baby and make your plans flexible. We had stuff planned that we didn't do because we didn't think Wren was up for it or the weather was bad enough that we didn't think it was a good idea. We moved on and found other things to do and had a great time.
- Cover outlets with tape so that you have another couple of seconds to get to the outlet before the baby can put her fingers in the holes.
- Choosing hotels with wood or other hard surface floors since they are easier to clean than carpet.
- Having one day of vacation be what the baby would want to do if she could say - hence the petting zoo.
