Pong Nam Ron to Chaolao Beach

Yay!!! I got a bike the right size today. The Thai bikes are definitely not as nice as the Cambodian bikes or the ones we had in Vietnam, but at least the fit issues were resolved.

Last nights storm was not quite done this morning. There was a little bit of a downpour right before we got rolling this morning. We waited for it to pass. The roads were wet when we did ride and without fenders we had all that water splashing up on us and was not super pleasant. Fortunately in only lasted a little while and then the streets dried off. The rain seemed to have cooled the day off quite a bit and cleaned the air. Crazy when 96'F feels like a nice cool day to ride!

We are staying right at the beach and got in early despite out 85K of riding. We went to the beach and enjoyed the warm water. Someone found a coconut and a game was started. Ultimate Coconut! Very similar to ultimate frisbee, but with coconut. 2 teams, chest deep water, to move the coconut it must be thrown and caught before hitting the water. 10 seconds before it must be thrown. So much fun!!! The only downside is Jeff and I were not planning on spending as much time in the water as we did and look a little lobster-y now. Its a shame as we have been so good with sun block, sigh.

We also got massages today which were fantastic! They did a great job of getting the aches out. A different style of massage than I used to but fantastic

We had a nice sunset walk on the beach before dinner and it was lovely.

Dinner was fantastic, the funny part of it was the power going out for the whole beach for about 45 minutes. This is the second dark meal we have had this trip. The other one was in Cambodia. Ut only stayed dark for about 15 minutes.

Now time for sleep!

Us riding.

Yep, hammock on the beach after a long ride = awesome!

Roughing it again...
