Koh Phi Phi Don

Being lazy and smooshing 2 days in to one blog entry.

From Bangkok we took a short domestic flight to Phuket. Asia Air is the Southwest Airlines of southeast Asia. From the air port we had a driver with a "Mr. Logan" sign waiting for us who whisked us and out baggage to the marina. We had pastries and drinks waiting for us before the speed boat departed. Our luggage was loaded on to the boat and off we went. It was an hour of crazy fast, choppy, bone wrenching, occasionally drenching, wind whipping, wave hopping insanity to get to out little island. When all was said and done I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to comb my hair out again.

The resort and the views in are amazing. I was mostly unable to take pictures between the spray and the huge chop. Our room is it's own little cabin. There is a sleeping area, an open area with a private out door shower, living room and sink and a second walled area with a second shower and toilet. It is beautiful and luxurious. All of the walkways are soft sand and in front of the buildings is a place to wash your feet. They call themselves a barefoot resort. Me being me, within 5 minutes find the only rock in the whole place, not pay attention and kick it, which resulted in slicing open the bottom of my foot and bruising it *sigh* cant take me anywhere.

Jeff and I went diving, 2 dives. Saw amazing things, the highlights being 5 lion fish, several rock fish, coral fans, moray eels, sea snakes schooling fish, and tons of things I don't know the names for. Jeff had a little friend. This 6" fish kept following him around and cleaning him and his tank, it was awesome. We finished the day off with a great candle light dinner on the beach. Fantastic day!

Today is Jeff's birthday. We had a wonderfully lazy morning. After a fantastic breakfast we went out for a couple more dives. We saw a sea turtle, anemones, nemo's (clown fish), angle fish, eels, trumpet fish, lobster, bubble coral and tons of other amazing species. It was a great day of diving.

We took a walk on the beach after diving and decided what we really needed were a couple of beach-ish cocktails. It was great just to watch the people go by.We decided to go local for tonights dinner and found a small, Thai restaurant on the beach and has some great Thai seafood. We finished the day off at the resort with coffee and dessert. They had live music playing soft rock hits of the 70's. so funny but Jeff and I danced a couple barefoot in the sand (very romantic) and the whole restaurant sang Happy Birthday to Jeff. Great day, now sleepy time.

Good pictures are on the camera that don't have a cable for so you have to wait until I get home. Not long now... We fly out tomorrow to go back home. Having. A great time, but ready for home.
